Over spring break my friend Hailee and I ventured to Salt Lake for a girl's weekend. We spend a day shopping at the Gateway, dinner at Benihana and tearing apart our hotel room.
After arriving at the Gateway in Salt Lake we started with lunch so we could get our energy. We soon after spent a lot of money on a lot of stuff. We had so many bags to carry by the end of the day our arms felt like they were about to fall off. We did, however, choose the perfect day to shop. We didn't go into one store that didn't have some sort of a sale going on. We spend a lot of our time in Buckle. It is our very favorite store, expensive, but still our favorite. We also ended up buying a lot of chocolate at the local chocolate factory.
Dinner at Benihana was next. It was delicious, but a little overrated. Personally I like our local Kobe a lot better. We were joined by a family who, for whatever reason, thought we were just hilarious. We really weren't that funny.
Next came the hotel room. We were so hyper after dinner that we were jumping on the beds attempting to take pictures of us in the air. We also took some in what we like to call the "wind tunnel" (below).
We really weren't in a wind tunnel just trying to get our hair to stand up. It looks really funny though. Hailee is one of my best friends and we had the greatest time on our two day trip.
You're trip sounds like quite an adventure! Sometimes all it takes to feel normal again is a quick getaway, even if it's only to Salt Lake. I've never been to Benihana's but I've heard that it's a delicious place. My sister and I used to go on fun little excursions like the one you talked about above, and it made me feel happily reminiscent! :)
ReplyDeleteYou two remind me of my best friend Sandy and I! We do crazy stuff like that and take weird pics like that a lot! And sometimes no one understands it but the two of you. I love that! And I also love the Buckle, I worked there for 2 years actually. But now I save a lot more money now that I don't. And I also love Kobe! That is among my favorite restaurants. We have lots in common. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun trip. Mandie, that is really funny. We do have a lot in common. Yea I have so many pictures on my computer that if most people were to see them they probably would think I was the weirdest person in the world. I probably am, but it's so much fun. I applied at the Buckle once, but had another job offer by the time they called me. It's my favorite store though.
